On February 3, 2024, Sangster Elementary School's Math Club made an impressive mark at the MATHCOUNTS George Washington Chapter Competition. Out of ten Sangster participants, Rebecca and Silas emerged as standouts, securing spots at the State Competition in Fredericksburg on March 2. Rebecca secured an impressive second-place finish overall, while Silas, though awaiting the precise ranking beyond the top five, landed somewhere between seventh and eighth. Notably, both students competed admirably against their peers, who were predominantly 7th and 8th graders from other middle schools in the chapter.

Congratulations to all participants including Bruno, Solomon, Henry, Inara, Ajwad, James, Evan, and Summer for their outstanding performance! We look forward to cheering on Rebecca and Silas as they represent Sangster ES at the upcoming State Competition.
