Third Grade Newsletter

Wow! We can’t believe how fast this year flew by! In the last week and a half of school we will be diving into some fourth grade material and wrapping up our civilization projects.

Language Arts – We are working on synthesizing the information we learned in Social Studies this year to create our civilization projects. After students finish creating their project they will get to present them to the class. Students are also work on reading novels with their book club.

Math – Following the SOL third graders have begun to explore fourth grade math concepts including 5 digit adding and subtracting and long division. Students will continue to work on these concept until the end of the year.

Social Studies – Students are working hard to apply their knowledge of the ancient civilizations we learned about this year. The civilization project requires them to think about important elements of a civilization and how they are all connected.

Science – Students will wrap up simple machines this month. Including learning about pulleys and levers.

The third grade class party will be held on June 7th from 12:45-1:45pm! We look forward to celebrating our amazing year.

Have a great summer, good luck in fourth grade, and keep reading!!
