Reading Essential Question:
How are nonfiction writing and fiction writing the same?
How do writers make choices in their poetry? What are structures that poets use?
Comprehension Skill Focus:
Students will read and reread familiar stories, poems, and passages with fluency, accuracy, and meaningful expression to show understanding.
Oral Language Focus:
•Sharing personal writing that was edited and finished.
• Continuing with following directions
•Poetry can help us express our thinking in a different way.
Finish Unit 4 - 2 digit addition and subtraction strategies.
DREAMBOX – Keep using your Dream Box and keep up the terrific practice!
Word Study Skills:
•Adding endings to words that change the spelling of the root word.
•Focus on patterns.
Continue “Writer’s workshop” with non-fiction, personal narratives, and poetry.
Wondering About Weather: SCI G2.6 Investigate and understand basic types, changes, and patterns of weather. SCI.G2.7 investigate and understand that weather and seasonal changes affect plants, animals, and their surroundings
Standards covered: American Indians. We will complete our study of American Indians.
